Wow! This election is really rocking the boat. Everyone is on edge. We’re all trying to keep the faith, encourage one another, beg for our candidate to win, and hope for the kind of future we want to see. Meanwhile, life goes on. Kids need educated, everyone needs sleep, work has to be done, and homes have to be kept. It’s distracting and exhausting.
What we do know is that this unknown future is in the hands of a well-known God. He is faithful; He is good; He loves us immeasurably more than we can even imagine. Whatever happens next will be used for our good and His glory—whether we like it or not.
I’m clinging to this hope as I go about my days—bouncing from worry to trust—praying all the way. When my mind starts to wander, I pray. When I pick up Facebook and the scrolling gets ugly, I pray. When the worst-case-scenario starts playing, I pray. I choose to worship and praise God in the midst of this chaos. It doesn’t fix the mess, but it does quiet my heart and bring peace and hope in the midst of it.
I am praying for our country, for our leadership, for peace and unity, for revival, and for a bright future.
