The kitchen is demoed, beautiful things are coming! This includes a new layout because everyone is different and I cannot wrap my head around a stove across the room from an oven, an oven door that opens right in front of the garage door (that could have been disastrous), and a fridge that you can’t even open all the way because the door hits the wall. I’m already challenged enough in the cooking department, I need a space that makes sense for me.
While we are making changes, we may as well make it beautiful too! I’m sure everyone has different takes on what that means as well, but for me it’s BLUE! It’s always been BLUE! I wanted to paint our cabinets blue before we decided to move, but Ryan always said no. That is, until he saw it in Home Depot. They have my exact dream kitchen on display and when he saw it, it became our dream kitchen! Soon enough that kitchen will be in our home! I can’t even believe it!
It’s a process though. Real life demo is way less fun than TV demo looks! It also takes a lot longer. Two weeks ago we started. Most of the counter and cabinets and all the appliances are in the dumpster. All of our non-essentials are in totes in the garage. It is so nice to see all of that gone so the new has space, but well I guess I cooked a little more than I realized because all my go-to meals are off the table and I’m at a loss for what to feed everyone. I don’t even have a sink to pour boiling water off the macaroni.
We do have an air fryer. I am so thankful for that! I’m not even sick of it yet, but let’s face it, this is not going to be our healthiest season. We are “frying” up the freezer section and eating out over and over again. Two weeks and I’m ready to throw a casserole in the oven, or at least some cupcakes! Maybe next month!?
Until then, please give me ideas! What are your favorite no-bake, no-stove, no-kitchen-sink meals or snacks that could help a mama out?
